With help from an adult, safely chop the onion into small pieces.

Mix onions with the minced beef and season.

3

Roll the mix into small balls and press into burger shapes cupping your hands toghether and flattening the mince into a nice burger shape.

4

Place your healthy burger on greaseproof paper to stop it from sticking and refrigerate it for 30 minutes before cooking it. (If you can wait that long!)

5

Heat the barbecue to medium hot (there will be white ash over the red hot coals – about 40 minutes after lighting it). Then brush each side of the burger with oil.

Place the burgers oil-side down on the barbecue and cook for 5 minutes until the meat is lightly charred.

Tip: Don’t move them around or they may stick or even break.

Oil the other side, then turn it over and cook for 5 minutes more for medium charred.
